Gloss and Polishing Enamels

Enamels require several surface effects or types of finish. Many manufacturers produce enamels with high-gloss, semi-gloss or egg-shell gloss, as well as enamels with flat or dull effects. These names refer to about the same surface appearances as those produced by varnishes having similar names. Other properties besides surface effects are taken under consideration in the manufacture of enamels. This has resulted in a variety of names for the various products.
